The Drägerhaus

The Drägerhaus is currently closed. After the Behnhaus was extensively renovated and restored, the Drägerhaus is now being renovated in the second construction phase.

In 1981, the Behnhaus Museum was extended to include the neighbouring building. The museum extension was financed by Dr Heinrich Dräger and the building was connected to the Behnhaus as the Drägerhaus.

Today, the rooms in the Drägerhaus primarily offer a contemporary exhibition space for the painting collection and for special exhibitions. However, their historical function and the character of private living spaces remain recognisable. With the rococo-style suite of banqueting rooms on the ground floor, the Drägerhaus contains a unique ensemble of rooms in Lübeck modelled on the French style.
